Chaos of Contagion

How to cope with the Chaos of Contagion?

The confusion of conventions

The conflicts over comportment

Floating, floating, floating, floating, floating

No solid ground to land on

Civilization grinding to a halt

Opening opportunities of expression

Look at me floating above

Suspended in animation

It’s a good time to reassess

Everything

Comedy Writers Have Taken Over the universe

Who is writing this shit?

Clearly, comedy writers have taken over reality.

My guess is it’s George Carlin & Andy Kaufmann

Today’s headline was a perfect gem of nihilistic humor:

NASA says there is a 0.41% chance that an asteroid will hit us the day before the US election.

Given the mutated time stream we have slipped into, I’ll translate that as a 100% chance, maybe 110%.

This begs the obvious question of where would we most like the asteroid to strike?

Political targets (Congress, the White House…) are too obvious. Carlin would want more irony, and Kaufmann would want less predictability.

Spoiler alert: Here are the top five targets:

  1. Mount Rushmore
  2. Our “defensive” stockpile of nuclear weapons
  3. Mara-a-Lago
  4. Harmlessly into the middle of the ocean… creating continent-swallowing tsunamis
  5. The world’s stockpile of toilet paper

Who am I?

All of the news that contradicts my views is fake

All of the rumors that support my views are real

Who am I?

If you guessed someone other than me & you

You’re wrong

The Prettiest Poems Ever Penned on the Planet+ The World’s Wisest Words of Wisdom

July 24, 2020

I broke on the rocks

When your talons

Gouged out my eyes

I held fast to your tail

As you soared up high over the rocks

With one flick you released me

I broke into seven pieces on the rocks

Can You Make a Poem About…

March 30, 2020

The other day, a friend asked if I could write a poem based on a prompt, and if so, if I could write a poem about eating with your hands. It turns out that eating roasted vegetables with your hands lets you enjoy them better than with a fork or chopsticks. It’s just a fact.

So I wrote the following:

Eating with my fingers

Such a sticky delight

mashing mashed potatoes

in the middle of the night

Annoyed and Enlightened

May 30, 2019

That’s a little cartoon I call, “People, shut the fuck up for a minute!” I mean, it’s hard to think of any other animal that just constantly jabbers: talk, talk, talk. Give it a rest! The other animals on the planet have told me that they are annoyed, so quiet the fuck down. The trees, too… they can’t take it anymore. The greatest thing about the original Planet of the Apes movies was that humans had lost the ability to speak. Thank fucking God.

I walked around in a labyrinth and came up with this poem:

I create my life’s story

I live my life’s story

I create stories with my life.

I am both in the center of my labyrinth

And on the path of my labyrinth

I don’t have to wait around for anything to happen

I am happening

Trees

tree

I am so grateful to live in the age of trees.

Trees hold the Earth and sky together.

Fungi hold trees together.

I hold myself together.

But sometimes I slip through my fingers.

Some Poemish Songs (or songish poems)

When I get it

I can’t make it out of my mind

I’m in such an awful bind

There’s this thing I need to find

A hidden key of some kind

It’s eluded me before

It’s on the other side of a door

When I get it, I’ll be free

When I get it, I’ll change my destiny

I dunno. Poetry I guess.

Three Loud Firetrucks

Three loud blaring, blasting firetrucks

Tree limbs swaying

Sirens lingering

Wind dying down

All quiet now

  • Choke the artichokes

Death, Despair & Desperation

June 7, 2017

Deep Inside My Head

A buzzing. A whooshing pressure.

My body is here but where am I?

Deep inside my head

The empty seat in front of me comes back into focus

I dreamt a lacquered coffin

Now I see one
